In this 2 week course, participants will hone observational skills and practice watercolor technique while learning the basics of landscape painting.
Working from photos, we will cover all essential elements of rendering a scenic painting, including composition, color temperature, value, linear perspective, and atmospheric perspective. Learn to create movement and depth in your painting, and gain a new appreciation for the beauty of your surroundings through the process of close observation and careful rendering.
Through demonstrations, practice, and individual instruction, participants will learn a unique approach to watercolor, intended to alleviate the frustration often induced by this beautiful yet challenging medium. Our work will strengthen your observational skills with a painting process that trains the artist to see value and color.
All levels of experience are welcome!
All materials are provided, but students are encouraged to bring their own pallet if they have one.
