In this introductory monotype printing workshop, explore how to create painterly prints on paper using a variety of experimental techniques on the printing press.
In this 3-hour workshop, students will experience an introduction to the exciting world of possibilities that monotype printmaking can offer. Learn how to experiment with textures, stencils, and light & shadow through various techniques exploring additive and subtractive methods, as well as color layering. You'll have hands-on experience using water-based inks, printmaking tools, and brushes, and learn how to create hand-pulled, painterly prints using CAC’s printing press. Gain an understanding of this fun and creative artistic medium and leave with your own one-of-a-kind, unique prints!
