Do you have a piece or art you have been wanting to frame? Learn how to frame it yourself using proper archival methodology.

What is Archival framing and why is it important?

Archival framing is a method of framing artwork and valuable documents using conservation-grade, acid-free materials and techniques to prevent damage and deterioration over time, ensuring their longevity.

Joel will guide, teach, and help you to frame your beloved 2 dimensional piece using archival techniques, saving you money and empowering you to do it yourself.

Requirements: bring your 2D art piece and a frame of your choice for that art piece Optional: Bring a bag lunch or you can venture out and about.

Workshop provides: matte, backing, and use of tools

 

Instructor: Joel Kurtz is an artist/ceramicist and has a Graduate Certificate/Museum Studies from Harvard Extension School.

He has designed museum exhibits for Napa Valley Museum.
